Once here, much like my dog once was,
A presence from years long past,
Then, it slipped away,
As if carried off by the wind.
Now, it’s absent, missing,
A puzzle with a lost piece,
And I search for it still,
An answer to the vast expanse of infinity.
I desire to understand,
To plot infinity on life’s number line,
And to find that elusive pleasure.
As I cycle to school, flowers silently witness,
And birds serve as timely reminders.
The sudden outburst from a child,
A reflection of times gone by,
Leaves me wondering,
Was I ever so carefree and unrestrained?
