Poem of the Week: Transcendence

Cassini Love, Poet

Transcendence

I walked once singing along Walden Pond

Walled-in memories; I placed another stone on the bruised dam

Bruising clouds exhaled the eagles which made their huts by bare bank

Barren and rusted the axe heart within fair green forest of the ghostly woodchopper

Ghostly shadows of your fine fingertips swam among the peaceful pickerel

Peace held the glaucous hymn to my loneliness as the bread broke

Breadcrumbs listlessly scattered among the starry tide pools I wished upon

I walked once singing along Walden Pond
